Buy a Demographic Profile

Corona Research can provide demographic profiles on a variety of populations. These profiles are used for many purposes, from finding potential customers and expanding markets, to writing grant applications.

Need to know how much the average family of four spent on alcohol last year? The number of people who moved from your county last year, and where they went? The percent of cosmetologists who have twin daughters and are married to construction workers who hold two-year degrees and are veterans? You would be surprised at the data we can compile efficiently from available data sources.

Corona Research can create an easy-to-read report that focuses on your specific market. To see samples of demographic profile reports that Corona has created, please see our "Migrant Teen Population" Report and our "Seniors in Peoria" Report; both have recently been completed and made publicly available.

Types of Profiles:

Basic Geographic Profiles:

The demographics and economics of your neighborhood, town, city, county, or state, with comparisons to the profile of the U.S. or your state.

Advanced Geographic Profiles:

The demographics and economics of your neighborhood, town, city, county, or state, with comparisons to your state average, the U.S. average, and that of seven similarly sized regions.

Your City or County Profiles:

A comparison of the demographic and social characteristics of your community, by neighborhood. We will provide tables as well as descriptive maps.

Wage and Economic Profiles:

A comparison of wage levels and jobs by sector in your county, compared to your state and the U.S.

Demographic Profiles of Populations:

We can develop demographic profiles on many different populations. Some examples might include:

  • profile of surviving African-American Korean War veterans in Michigan
  • profile of the working poor in the eastern suburbs of Seattle
  • profile of workers in the mining industry in western Wyoming
  • profile of the Hispanic community in McAllen, Texas
  • profile of self-identified Navajo people in Arizona
  • general spending patterns of a family of four in the western United States
  • profile of single mothers in the inner-city neighborhoods of Chicago
  • net migration in and out of your county or state, along with origins (by county or state) of incoming households and destinations (by county or state) of outgoing households
  • profile of families with three or more children in rural West Virginia
  • profile of households with three or more people who are all unrelated college students in Fort Collins, Colorado.
  • profile of households where a grandparent lives in the household in Mobile, Alabama
  • profile of senior citizen households where one person lives alone in south-central Missouri
  • profile of households where one spouse earns more than three times the amount of wages as the other spouse in specific neighborhoods of New York City and its environs
  • a nationwide profile of four-person households where one parent is a college graduate, the other dropped out of college, at least one person earns more than $50,000 per year in wages, the couple earns more than $1,000 per year in interest and dividends, and they have two children, one male and one female, that are more than ten years apart in age.*

The caveats about profiles

1. Most demographic profiles will be based on the most recent U.S. Census American Community Survey data, which is collected yearly.  For some profiles of particularly small populations we will need to utilize 2000 census data.  While in many cases the demographic profiles will not change significantly in less than a decade, raw numbers will change, particularly in fast-growing areas. For an extra charge, we can develop demographic models to update profiles to the current year.

2. For detailed population profiles, please contact us about the specific geographic boundaries available in your region. We can provide profiles for any geographic area, but our pricing assumes that you will obtain data from pre-defined geographic areas.

3. Our demographic profiles concentrate on social, income, and family characteristics. Any profiles related to consumer purchases would need to be developed via our custom research rather than these profiles. (Exception: general category spending is available on a regional basis, as noted above, for certain attributes such as family size and income.)
